Meet the Staff at Nicollet Dental
Casey Nelson, DDS
I love my job. I got into dentistry because I love the variety. Every day I meet new and interesting people. Whether it’s an interesting conversation, or an interesting procedure to make your teeth healthy or improve your smile, I try to treat everyone as an individual. I take a lot of pride in my work and I hope I can be of service to you some day as your family dentist.
When not in the office, I try to stay as active as possible. I have played hockey most of my life and continue to play almost every week of the year. I also enjoy playing golf (poorly) and have recently re-taken up tennis after a 20 year hiatus.
I grew up in Minneapolis and attended high school at Minneapolis Southwest. I haven’t ventured far from my roots and still live in the Uptown area. I did leave Minneapolis for college and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology with a minor in Business from Colorado College and the University of St. Thomas, graduating with honors in 1998. Before dental school, I worked as an EMT, and then in the pharmaceutical industry for about 3 years. I graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 2005.
I am a strong advocate for advanced dental training, and am constantly expanding my knowledge and skills through an extensive amount of ongoing continuing education. I am a proud member of multiple local and national dental associations.
Linda – Office Manager
As our office manager, I enjoy the ‘People’ part of my role best! I am here to help in any way I can to give our patients the care they need and provide them with assistance in the areas of scheduling, insurance, and billing. I’ve enjoyed working in the dental field for over 25 years and had the opportunity to join Dr. Nelson in November 2019. When not working, I love spending time with my husband and two daughters. ‘My family is my greatest joy!’
Krissy- Dental Assistant
Krissy grew up in Blaine and now resides in Champlin. She is a graduate of Herzing University in Dental Assisting and has been a part of the Nicollet Dental team since 2011. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 daughters. They are often at their family cabin fishing, swimming, boating and relaxing. She strives to make everyday positive for the patients and our team.
Erika – Dental Hygienist
Erika grew up in Belle Plaine, Minnesota and received her bachelor’s degree at Mankato state. After college, she found a dental hygiene position on the Big Island of Hawaii. After 5 years she returned “home” to Minnesota and now lives with her fiance, Kyle, in uptown. You’ll find her camping, at a music concert, and/or hula hooping! She’s even got a flaming hula hoop! Erika has been a part of our team since January 2015.
Sarah – Dental Hygienist
Sarah grew up on a farm in St. Peter, Minnesota and received her bachelor’s degree at MSU Mankato. She now resides in Burnsville, Minnesota. Sarah has been a hygienist since 2010 and joined the Nicollet Dental team in early 2024. She enjoys getting to know her patients and providing a positive atmosphere. Outside of work you will find her camping, hiking, or at the lake.
Nikki – Dental Hygienist
Nikki received her Bachelor’s of Science degree in dental hygiene from the University of Minnesota. She joined the Nicollet Dental team in 2021. She loves getting to know her patients and helping them achieve a healthy & beautiful smile. Nikki grew up in Fridley Minnesota where she met and married her high school sweetheart. Together they have 4 children and a dog. In her free time, Nikki likes to attend various performing arts and sporting events. She also loves to travel and walk her dog.
